Position: Subsea Umbilical Specialist
Challenge: Critical position within their Houston SURF organization which required intimate knowledge of the design, manufacture, testing, hook-up and commissioning of a variety of subsea umbilical systems and associated hardware.

Delivery: Contacted a candidate previously identified nearly 10 years ago and had stayed in touch with over the years, monitoring their career progression.  We worked closely with Shell to coordinate the interview and selection process including skills assessment, offer negotiation and onboarding. The successful candidate, a degreed Ocean Engineer, brought to the table more than 12 years of subsea experience including several years with a major subsea hardware/service company and recent 7 years with another major operator.  Her impressive career track record is complemented by recent, hands-on project work executing a major international subsea field development.

Position: Sr. Flexible Flowline Specialist
Challenge: Doris indicated a need for an experienced flexible flowline specialist to immediately begin work on a key FEED with a Houston-based customer.  Requirements included solid education credentials, proven flexible pipe installation and design know-how and a team player mentality.

Delivery: The successful candidate, an individual whom we had contacted through networking several years prior,  brought to the table 25 years of industry experience as well as a B.S. & M.S. Civil Engineering.  Moreover, his career includes 8 years of recent, hands-on flexible pipe manufacturing, design and installation planning experience, supporting several leading deepwater GOM and Brazil projects.

Position: VP, Global Sales
Challenge: MacDermid approached ENSEARCH with the remit of managing a retained search to fill a key management role within their growing organization.  Requirements included proven experience in managing a successful sales organization, proven knowledge of offshore oil and gas and the main drivers, international business experience and other key attributes.

Delivery: Presented (3) outstanding candidates with a broad range of experience in offshore oil and gas business development.  Chosen candidate was an excellent recruit as he brought with him 20+ years offshore industry experience.  Additionally, he has an excellent understanding of market dynamics and drivers and has a proven track record of leading highly successful multi-national sales organizations  in managing the entire sales process

Position: Director, Gulf of Mexico Operations
Challenge: Difficult to fill, retained search, for a key leadership position with a well-established subsea technology firm. Requirements included strong technical skills in the areas of subsea engineering as well as proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, business development and after-market operations for firms engaged in offshore oil and gas.  

Delivery: Identified several candidates through networking, direct headhunting and  personal contacts.  After many challenges with identifying the ideal candidate, an excellent match was discovered.  Chosen candidate was a fantastic recruit as he brought with him a B.S. Mechanical Engineering complemented by 15+ years of subsea experience with several leading hardware suppliers including FMC and GE Vetco.

Position: Riser Delivery Project Engineer
Challenge: Critical position within their Mooring and Riser System Design organization which required hands-on experience with riser systems including the design, manufacture, testing and commissioning of various riser components including specialty joints, connectors, tensioners, tendons and buoyancy modules, among others.

 

Delivery: Identified an ideal candidate through a social networking website.  Met with the candidate and performed our detailed assessment of technical capabilities, communication skills and overall fit for the position.  Thereafter, we worked closely with Shell to coordinate the interview and selection process including skills assessment, offer negotiation and onboarding. The successful candidate, a degreed Mechanical Engineer, UT Austin, brought to the table nearly 6 years of experience with one of the industry’s leading riser hardware suppliers where he helped execute several deepwater projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
