Business Development Manager - Industry leader in highly specialized equipment for offshore oil and gas is seeking an experienced, proven sales leader to join their growing Houston operation.  BS Engineering, 10+ years sales experience and a firm understanding of managing the sales process from prospecting, closing and aftermarket support are just a few of the requirements.

 

Subsea Systems Engineer - Super-Major is seeking a well experienced subsea systems engineer to join their Houston center of excellence.  BSME, and P.E. are desired as is 10+ years experience managing the design, manufacture, testing and installation of various subsea equipment for deepwater asset developments.  Excellent communication skills and a solid ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment is paramount.

 

Sr. Mechanical Engineer -  Houston-based leading supplier of subsea production equipment is seeking a well experienced Engineer to join their growing organization.  Prior experience designing a variety of valves and associated components is preferred as is a P.E. license.  Great opportunity with a company with an excellent reputation in the industry for quality and deliverability!

 

Subsea Completions Engineer - Major Operator is seeking several sharp, experienced subsea completions engineers.  Previous experience with offshore completions is a plus as is an understanding of flow modeling and the familiarity with the design and selection of all downhole related equipment.  B.S. Engineering with 8+ yrs. experience required.

 

Project Manager - Cutting Edge subsea technology company is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to join their Houston operation. Previous experience in managing the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of oilfield drilling & production equipment is needed.  Additional requirements include B.S. Engineering, 5+ years industry experience and ideally a heritage with one of the major subsea equipment suppliers.

 

Riser Team Lead -  Houston based Engineering Consulting Firm is seeking an experienced Riser Engineer to join their growing Houston operation. Requirements include a solid background in the engineering and analysis of various riser systems including TTRs, SCRs, rigid, flexible etc. for numerous floating applications such as SPARS, FPSOs, TLPS and Semi-Submersibles.  

 

 CAREER ADVICE - WORKING WITH A RECRUITER (for candidates)

 

Working with a recruiter is one of the most important actions one can take in managing their career.  As such, careful thought and planning must be taken to ensure you select the right firm and right recruiter to represent your interests in the marketplace.   Here are a few helpful tips: 
  1. Conduct research on the internet or ask your colleagues to help identify search firms who specialize in your industry and area of expertise.
  2. Once 3 - 4 have been identified, take the time to call each and ask several basic questions such as: do they specialize in your industry, which companies they represent, how they help manage the interview process, do they have exclusives with the hiring company, etc.
  3. Meet in person with the top 2 to help give you a feel for their professionalism, industry knowledge and perhaps most importantly, how they'll represent you in the marketplace!
  4. Be upfront and honest with the recruiters you select and let them know what you will consider and what you won't.
  5. Be realistic with your salary and career expectations.   Remember, if more money is your primary motivation, consider asking for a raise and staying where you are currently employed.
  6. The better recruiters in the industry will want to meet you in person and will know all of the details of the company, division, position, hiring manager background, etc.  Your better recruiters will also clearly explain the interview and selection process, will conduct a detailed technical interview, will ask you for references and will tell you the name of the company whom they are representing.
Stay assertive with your recruiter. If there is a delay in communication, call them again and reiterate your commitment to making a career change for the right opportunity. This alone helps keep the recruiter focused and your name at the top of the list!
